This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.
**Giveaway Closed! Thank you for entering!!**
Life gets so busy sometimes and I've had to learn the art of multi-tasking in order to get all my check lists, checked off. In between my day job of being an HR Director, to my part time job of being a wedding photographer and my wonderful hobby of being a blogger I am pretty much always on the computer and multi-tasking on the computer is just as important as any other tasks. In between spreadsheets, editing photos and writing posts, I always have multiple windows open doing multiple things that are sometimes related but most often not.
When BlogHer offered to send me a brand new laptop powered by the the Intel® Core™ i5 processor, I figured they must've been reading my mind when I was thinking that I needed a computer that could keep up with everything that I do on it. The new processor has Intel® Turbo Boost Technology allowing you to “get more done in less time” which, really has been my motto for the past year or so. Anything that allows me to do more in an efficient manner is a friend of mine! They also provided me with an Intel® Wireless Display adaptor that allows me to use my HDTV as a monitor. How cool is that! I love being able to see my computer on a giant screen and it allows me to keep more windows open and see them all at once.
I've just started using the laptop, so I'll be posting an update later on to let you know how it's working out for me!
I really wish I could share my new laptop with all of you but I can offer you something close... a $250 gift card to Best Buy! All you need to do is to leave me a comment and tell me what you do help you multitask better or faster! And for an extra entry, tweet or blog about this giveaway!

I keep a journal nearby so that I can jot down all my thoughts and tasks I want to complete for the day. I will often try to do more than one at once :)

I'll often have many other tabs open while I'm finishing up homework to submit electronically. I'm also a list maker, and once I freely write about what I want to buy or do that day, I group the items into categories if they can be done together.

When I'm on a tight schedule, I would write out a list of things that need to get done on that day. Then I write down the time that I would start and finish each task. I also use the alarm on my phone to keep track of the time. Classic methods, but they work!
I have an amazing app on my phone that I can make lists on all day long and check off as things get done. I also make sure everything gets synced on my calender. At work I have two monitors set up so I can have lots of things open at once and visible! It helps so much.
I'm a big proponent of calendars! I write everything down on the calendar at my desk, but also use the calendar in my phone for permanent appointments.
I have to keep up with billable time in my job so I'm forced to stay on task. Speaking of, I better get back to work. Love your blog!
I like to use the Stickies program on my computer--basically, post-it notes for your computer screen--to list all my to-dos. Sometimes, they're color-coded based on urgency, and the transparency function is great, too! You can hide them and continue on with your normal screen use. Love them!
a good old fashion stickypad!
I try to do one easy task then one harder task so I feel like I'm still accomplishing something and not get too stuck on one thing.
Like you said, anything that makes multitasking easier is a friend of mine!! I'd love to win this! I write everything down in a mini notebook and put everything in order of priority or deadline - this really helps!
I used different color post-its for to do lists with different priorities
I have a huge monitor with several different browsers open all with a ton of tabs. In addition, I am on my iphone getting other stuff done. I always have music playing to keep me upbeat.
I make lists and update my calendar to multitask more efficiently. Thanks for the giveaway Tiffany!p
I make list after list. I have to have a visual, whether its on my phone, computer, or paper. Then it's easier to figure what things I can do together
I have so many windows open on my computer that it's ridiculous. Couple that with also using my iPhone for dictating emails/notes while I'm out and about, recording voice memos for interviews and cooking demos, etc. - I've learned to embrace technology.

I always have a to-do list by my side to keep me on track! Also, my iphone is great for keeping lists (christmas lists, grocery lists). thanks!
I have a to-do mouse pad at work. I can write everything on it and since I see it all day it's easier for me to stay on task.
I'm a big fan of utilizing my calendar and tasks in Outlook. Without them, I wouldn't know where to be or what needs to get done next! I also multi-task while on conference calls - catch up on personal email and my daily blog fix :-)

I make my daily to-do lists with the stickies feature on my laptop, and just check on it throughout the day. I tend to do the easy tasks first so I can concentrate on the bigger tasks after.

I make lists and revise/re-prioritize them every few hours based on what the day throws at me. I also like to play music as background noise - keeps me sane :)

I have a calendar on my computer that I put everything in! I'm on my computer for work all day long so it's the best place for me to stay on track!

I make a fresh to do list every morning. I live off of lists whether it's errands or day to day tasks. I just need a better way of keeping them other than my trusty notebook. :)
I use post-it notes software on my computer! it even has reminders and alarms
Lists always get me through when multi-tasking!
I lOVE making lists- helps me keep on track and it feels so good to cross something off!

Everything goes on my calendar on my computer, including my to-do list, which keeps me on task and lets me keep track of time. Also, having multiple monitors really helps going back and forth between windows.
i love the use of spaces (on a mac) - it keeps everything sorted in different windows, so i can switch back and forth. without feeling clutter. and i keep a notebook directly in front of me to jot down notes for whatever projects i'm working on.
I keep a memo of my "to do list" and also a mental note, however that laptop seems like it could help!!
Love your blog
I make a list of everything I need to get done that day and I start off with the things that take the longest first so I make sure to get them out of the way.
I use the pomodoro system when I feel myself getting too easily distracted!
I still use the "paper and pen" list method, but I'm trying to get more high tech!
oooh awesome giveaway!! hmm i plan ahead for my multitasking. paper and pencil/pen is still my way to go. i wish i had a smartphone to help but that will come next year.
i tweeted http://twitter.com/oshkoshbgosh123/status/4937305219403776
I make lists in the morning of things I want to accomplish and I use music to motivate me during the boring tasks!
I use my speakerphone while at work (with my door closed) to organize my desk and respond to emails while on conference calls!
I can't give up my monthly journal (despite having a calendar and planner in my phone). I also carry around a small Moleskine notebook to jot down tasks or ideas I randomly think of.
I have a two planners. One for monthly and one for daily. I also have a notebook for things to-do through out the day as well as post-it notes that I have on my computer to remind me. I like to kill two birds with one stone, that way it frees up the rest of my day.
I write things down on post-it notes and try to prioritized and decide which task is more important or time sensitive.
I use my cellphone apps, especially the calendar reminders.
I prioritize by making a list in my planner and cross off each task as it gets done.
My tip isn't to make things faster, but it makes things more sane. I try to pair a task that I do for my benefit with a task I do for general benefit. For example, I'm preparing for a class I teach tomorrow but am taking breaks to clean my room.
the old-fashion way of writing my list of to-do's on a notepad. i get a sense of accomplishment when i get to check them off one by one! =D
I centralize everything to Google- email, calendar, chats, keeping up on news, writing notes and reminders to myself, sharing documents, storing online logins and passwords (this is super convenient for printing shipping labels, paying off credit cards, etc), even making a lot of phone calls. So all I need is my laptop and one browser! I'm totally ok with Google taking over the world!

A big cup of tea, lots of music, and then straight to work. That's how I get the most work done possible in the least amount of time.
My trick is the Franklin Covey planner system (yes, I am old school like that). Something about the prioritization of tasks by importance, then by urgency, was an epiphany for my brain and work life.

i live for spreadsheets, it's like therapy
I have to make a list regardless if it is for grocery shopping or an item I have been looking for in the fashion world to help me remember stuff. I also use a fashion planner to plan outfits as they come to me!

Thanks to my iPhone, I can manage my email and calendar while I'm in a meeting or waiting for my boss to get off the phone. It's a multitasking miracle!
i sync everything to my phone calendar and set reminders. In addition to having an extra wide monitor at work to keep multiple windows open :)
My day planner is a huge help. So is coffee. Lots of coffee.
Between school and working full time I live on my computer. My to do list on my computer keeps my head straight!
I use a few methods. Post-Its, my phone's calendar and an app on my phone that is an electronic version of post-its and a to-do list.

I make lists! Lots and lots of lists!
i always write down everything i need to get done and helps me evaluate what i need to get done first or the easiest to get done.
Post-its!! I have them everywhere in order to multi-task AND keep organized at work. I used to buy really cute post-its (hello kitty, ice cream cone shaped, differed colored ones, etc) but I use an amazing amount that it was burning a hole through my wallet.
I also love my stickies app on my phone for grocery lists, to-do lists, and random notes.
i followed the link and did "stuff" lol
i put a list of everything i need to do on my iphone
I'm a pro at excel spread sheets. From cleaning schedule to monthly exercise classes at the gym, my life is mapped out. Some call it OCD, I call it bliss.

I use several different methods: my day planner that always goes to school w/ me and helps me keep track of daily things; my appointment reminder on my blackberry; and a task manager on my macbook that lets me check off tasks as I go. Oh and sometimes you'll find reminders posted on my refrigerator lol.
I tweeted the giveaway as well http://twitter.com/hershey_doll/status/4996123836030976
I'm a lists person. I have them in my bb, on my macbook, on postits and in my moleskine. It helps me stay organized
For me it is all about the lists.
I'm a constant list maker and I may redo them 100x to make sure I flow nicely from 1 to-do to the next. (I know it sounds like more work, but it's not - I like having a flow in everything I do.)
I've also started using a site called Cozi.com. I like it because I can make my list and send it to myself as an email or text on my phone.
I'm a lister. I'm always creating lists that I have to do, and then put the things I can do at pretty much the same time together.
I also carry an agenda in my purse, and have a calendar in our office. I tend to work better when multi tasking and in a time crunch so it always seems to work out!

I have multiple email addresses and don't always have every account up on my primary computer screen - so I keep my iPhone by my desk (which has every account loaded) in order to check my other accounts when I hear an alert.
I don't what took me so long to use my Windows Calendar but it's made multitasking so much easier.
I am just a big confused, frazzled mess but I do it all hyped up on coffee,it helps

Everything goes on my calendar. This helps keep me aware of what's needed and when.
I'm a college student, so I use my planner for school tasks/assignments and my Droid phone for all of the other little things I need to remind myself to do!
Everything goes in my iphone calendar! But sticky notes around my house are a huge help too!
I make a list in a journal that I carry with me every where. I call it my brain!
I use a concept called the Power 96. I make a to-do list for the following day. I come in the next morning & for the first 96 minutes of the day, I power through my to-do list. I don't answer any e-mails or voicemails until I've completed the Power 96. Depending on my workload, I may do this two or three times a day to get everything handled. It helps me get everything I need done quickly so that I can keep up with the people I work with in all different timezones.

i have to take notes constantly so i won't forget anything. i do this on my iphone. i send emails to my hubby to help me remember.
A good ol' to-do-list helps me out a ton. If I don't get it on my to-do-list, it probably won't get done. So I keep my lil' notebook nearby at all times.

I use my phone (not a fancy phone) for alarms and appts. I use Outlook calendar at work that I rely HEAVILY on. I make a ton of lists. I'm the queen of lists. I have the kind of paper it makes a carbon copy. I text myself, email myself. When I'm on the web I have a ton of windows open it drives my guy nuts. I can't just do one thing I have to be "efficient" in my use of time. I guess only girls understand this :)

Post-it Notes! Also, when I'm on a reeeally tight schedule, I force myself to stay off of Facebook and Gmail.
One thing I do to help multi-task is always have a to-do list notebook with me. That way whenever something pops up, I can write it down and make sure it doesn't fall through the cracks, but I don't have to stop everything and do it NOW. It really helps me stay on track!

I save all my calls for car rides and make a to do list so I make sure to finish everything
A to-do list and small rewards - whatever I need after accomplishing a task (run, jump rope, jamming out with itunes, chocolate!) that acts as a break and gets me just unfocused enough to re-focus for the next task!
I plan around my toddler's naps so I know what I can get done while she's asleep, and what to try to get done while chasing her!
I think I am pretty good at multitasking. I have a constant time line and to do list in my head. I plan out everything I do in a week and sometimes refer back to my handy planner for far out events.
Write everything down on paper! I'm so old school!

I use and abuse my blackberry pearl. I would be lost and so far behind without her.
I am a teacher (and a mom) so multitasking is necessary if I want to survive my day. I am old-fashioned and write lists and the physical act of checking things off my list makes me feel accomplished and gives me momentum to conquer the next task. Oh and I also write super important things that I need to get done or need to remember on the palm of my hand (my "palm pilot") and it always gets done...unless it washes off! :)

to-do lists always seem to make me more productive...
in order to keep my hectic life organized, I have started the practice of writing down all events, appointment, and birthdays in a planner. Those items are then added into the calendar on my phone, with an alert. iI get alerted everyday up until the day of the event. I have found this to be very effective and I've made it to more events, early for appointments, and haven't missed a birthday yet using this method.
I use a mixture of the old fashioned checklist + google calendar + blackberry calendar :)

I'm the WORST at multi-tasking. Right now I'm checking blogs and trying to cook (which is not happening). Fail. But my iPad has def been so easy to get stuff done quickly. I'm beginning to think women are natural multitaskers...either that, or we're awesome at adapting to becoming one due to the unique challenges of being a woman in modern society :) I am a chronic list-maker, and I'm always trying to think of how to dovetail multiple tasks, even if it's something as simple as folding laundry while watching Food Network. Thanks for doing this!

I'm a big list maker! I make lists before I go to bed so that it is ready for me when I wake up.
I keep myself organized and am able to do things faster because of two things:
(1) Making lists. Lots and lots of lists. I love making lists - and I color coordinate them based on what list is for what area of my life (i.e. blue for personal, purple for work, etc).
(2) I have specific spaces for my stuff and work to do. In one particular area, all the unfinished work; in another, the ones I'm in the middle of doing and so on.
I make a ton of lists! Especially on my blackberry, I keep so many random lists on there. And I ALWAYS have my planner with me to make sure I do everything I need to do. :]
LISTS! They're sometimes made in the morning, sometimes at night for the following day, but they're essential!

I like keeping track of things the old-fashioned way: writing things down in my organizer/planner. Everything from grocery lists to my to-do lists to things I want to buy! I love crossing things off lists. I do heavily rely on my Outlook calendar syncing with my iPhone so I stay on top of my daily activities!
In order to multi-task right now, I am working off of two laptops simultaneously (to keep my personal and work life separate but both in order).
I also compose mental lists in my head before going to bed each night. I find if I think about things before bed, I wake up with them still fresh in my mind and am much more likely to accomplish them!
I usually do it the old fashioned way-making a to do list and crossing items off as I knock them out! :)

I have to write things down and keep an appointment book. Also assigning tasks to family members keeps my plate from overfowing. Asking for help has been a hard lesson to learn.
My smart phone cell phone is what keeps me organized! Without constant calendar reminders I would be all over the place!
I do a lot of computer work, so I will often have multiple tabs and applications running. While one thing is processing, I switch over and work on something else.
I do the same thing at home - I'll be cooking dinner, working on the computer, tending to the pets, etc. - all at the same time.
I tend to do as much prep work as I can in advance, including meals and bight-before packing, as well as not waiting till the last minute to take care of deadline items. I also use an online prompt calendar for dated reminders.
I live and die by my Google (personal) and Outlook (work)calendars. Meetings, to do lists, reminders, they all go to my calendar.

I make lists and use many, many post-it notes! I also usually have many tabs open in my Internet browser.

I keep everything written down in organized time blocks in my planner. This helps me multi-task better because I know what I need to have done and how soon I need to have it done by.

I like to make lists...on my hand.
CLOTHED MUCH, a modest fashion blog
Lists, lots of lists. That way when I have a second, I can check to see what else I need to do that I have already forgotten about.
I use the windows "Sticky Notes" app to keep my "to do" list going. Try to knock them out one at a time.

I use my phone for my daily planning. And a large wall calendar for tracking further out tasks.
I can't wait to hear your review....a new faster computer can change my life because my laptop is a dinosaur and I feel like I spend way too much just waiting for pages to load. I can't multi-task at all. I can't have more than one application or page open at one time!! I can be a lot more productive with the Intel® Core™ i5 processor.

Google calendar is awesome for me especially with the task tab. It allows me to check off whatever tasks I've completed. I'm also a big fan of making to-do lists. I also keep a daily planner with me at all times. This is a great giveaway!
My best tip is to keep a smile on your face--that helps the day go better any way you slice it!
thanks!

Think about what you have to get accomplished before you get on the computer or go out to run that errand, you can get a lot done in one trip that way.

I also still do to much with paper and pen and dry erase and although I blog from a nice computer at home, I have no laptop to take with me when I am working or between clients. It creates a lot of papers and a lot of wasted time. I would LOVE to have this to be more productive with time alone.

You described exactly what I need! It's common for me to have multiple windows--with multiple tabs in each window--open at the same time (then, often the computer crashes!)...
anyway, maybe this doesn't necessarily help me multi-task, but I do write down everything nowadays. It's important to list my kids' extra-curricular activities so everyone knows who needs to be where and when. I also write down contest entries, so I won't get confused about whose blogs I entered at.
Thanks for the giveaway.

I try and get everything done during nap time because otherwise I am wrangling my 2 yr old and it just takes longer. Thanks! thebubbledies(at)gmail(dot)com
I make a list (sooometimes it a mental list) and prioritize my to-do list. I also found an amazing iPhone/Ipod Touch app called awesome notes that has helped me a whole bunch to organize my scatterbrained-ness hehe
