I recently was sent a few products from the skincare company L'Bel and I am a skincare junkie so was dying to try it out. I have always had skin issues, from a teenager to my early to mid twenties, I've had to deal with problem zits and random bumps on my face. It was one of those things that probably shouldn't bother me that much but it did, it bothered me a lot. I tried out a lot of different kinds of skincare at all different price points to take care of these issues. My skin has calmed down a bit and now my main concern is wrinkles and just general aging, although I do still have the occasional zit or two. The other product that I absolutely adore is the Essential Moisturizing Lotion Toner. I don't typically use a toner as the ones I've used before can be kind of harsh on my skin but this one is so gentle. I think I do a pretty good job of cleaning my make up off as I use an eye makeup remover as well as my Clarisonic but after using this toner I could still see a bit of makeup left on the cotton pad and my skin just feels really clean.

Skincare and makeup is one of those things that just makes me feel so happy. I can spend hours in my bathroom playing my lotions, blushes, eyeshadows, etc... On an everyday basis I make sure to take care of my skin so that it not only looks good now but when I'm older as well. Make up wise, I'm not "just your basics" kind of girl. I do everything from change up my eye shadow color daily to wearing brightly colored eyeliner and red lipstick (maybe not necessarily at the same time. lol!) but one thing that I always add to my makeup routine for any special events is add a pair of false eyelashes! That one thing can brighten up my whole look, especially since I have small eyes but when I wear them, my eyes look a lot bigger. It's kind of funny what these little fake lashes can do but I guess that's a reason why celebs wear them on the red carpet too!

For extra special moments, I really 'do' my makeup. Being a busy, full-time college student and employee I typically run out the door with a bit of mascara and eyebrow definer on.
For special events, I bring out eyeshadow, blush, tinted moisturizer-- the whole shebang! It makes me feel very feminine, and is a real treat for someone as on the go as I am.

I'm a pretty simple girl and don't wear much makeup. To add a little oompf when I do wear makeup, I like wearing sparkly eye shadow that make my eyes smokey looking and glittery eye liner.

I'm a product junkie too!! On a daily basis, I usually play with my eyes and keep my lips pretty neutral because eye make-up typically doesn't need to be reapplied and I live a hectic life. To do up it up, though, I usually do a hot lip color and play down my eyes. Because I have warm skin, deep or bright colors really pop and are tons of fun to play with when I'm doing something special. I'm a fan of MAC and Bobbi Brown lip colors especially.
On special occasions, I abandon the neutral shadows and MAC Zoom Lash used on my ordinary days and put on false lashes and more dramatic eye shadows. Nothing like unforgettable eyes for a special moment!
The thing I do to add to my look is either false lashes, or a stellar lipstick! Both of those are too much for me on a regular basis, but I LOVE to add them for special events. =)
Everyday, I usually wear foundation (mixed with moisturizer), concealer, light eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, and--if I have time--a neutral-colored eye shadow. For special events, I break out the dark/bright eyeshadow and I use more eyeliner. I've never thought about doing fake lashes, but I'm tempted now...
I do white in the corner of my eyes and under my bottom lashes to make my eyes pop.
Most special moments for me are at night, so I will often go with darker, more dramatic makeup and lots of eyeliner.

To take my routine up a notch - I add fake lashes. They make me feel glam!
for special occassions, i add Thi Lush Lashes. they make me feel glamorous :)

90% of the time I don't even bother to wear makeup to work... which is kind of a shame, because I could open a Sephora out of my bathroom closet! With the hours I work and the casual scientist lifestyle, I'd rather opt for an extra 20 minutes of sleep! But to take it up a notch from what I might wear if I wore makeup to work, I'll actually take the extra minute to curl my eyelashes!
When I want to add something really special to my makeup routine, I wear false eyelashes and liquid eyeline. Always does the trick and leaves my eyes looking fabulous!

I love extra thick and sometimes winged eyeliner. For special occassions I wear liquid eyeliner instead of the pencil kind. I would love to wear more pink/red lipsticks but I'm not brave enough (yet!).
For special makeup moments, i tend to go with gold undertones - a gold eyeshadow base and a tough at the inner corner of the eye...and then s smokey eye.
And I'll actually use primer on both the fact and eyes.
The question that I should answer is "what DON'T I add"! I am normally a mascara and lip gloss kind of girl. So, for special occasions, I actually "put my face on". :) I got a how-to before my wedding, and now I actually feel comfortable executing it... especially love the eyeshadow, which only makes an appearance for special moments.
I add just about everything when I go out. I almost never wear makeup to begin with, but when I go out, I definitely wear some.

When I want to look reeaallly good, I make sure my eyes are perfect. I make them more smoky, more dramatic, more perfectly lined. And, if it's a very special occasion, I will put concealer underneath my eyes. That's it!
for that little something more i might add some eyeshadow or eye liner or maybe even some lipstick. i'm a pretty basic girl and so that's my "over the top." it's not much but it is for me.

For extra special moments - I like to use Mary Kay's satin lip mask make sure my kisser is THE softest.
I love to add falsies.. but not a whole strip. I prefer the individual kine because they look more natural, but defnitely make asian eyes stand out a little more. :) And sometimes for fun, I'll pencil in a little beauty mark to feel a bit more "glamourous".. ha ha. :) It's sooo much fun being a woman!

I've recently gone the minimal makeup look, so for me, adding something special in my makeup routine means doing a full face of makeup; eyes, cheeks, lips, the whole shebang. It's nice to go from minimal to full glam :)

A dramatic eye (complete with liner, mascara and bold eyeshadow) is my go-to for sprucing up my make-up routine.

For special events I get a facial.. I love the way that my skin feels and when I get ready and wear my makeup on a facial day, my skin just glows and feels marvelous.
and for all special occassions I go straight to the bold eyeshadows. I usually only wear a little bit of mascara to play up my eyes but when I go out, I bust out the smokey eye and I instantly feel glam.
besides adding lashes for an easy way to look way more polished than the effort put in, for extra special occasions, i cover my face with a hot towel for a few minutes to soften my skin and put lotion on right afterwards...it gives it the "dewy" look! :)

For special moments, I go all the way with my make up. I usually do as little as possible which means powder/light powder foundation, brows, blush, grey liner, and definitely brows! Sometimes concealer. So if something special is going on, I use eyeshadow! Yes, eyeshadow and mascara as well as liquid foundation + powder. Finally, lipgloss or lipstick or both. Oh - falsies, too, if I feel like it. Eyes always take forever... especially with mascara!

I always have on makeup, but usually just eyeliner and mascara. But on special occasions I kick the eye makeup up a notch and do a bold smokey eye and I wear benetint lip stain- you can wear it on your lips and a little on your cheeks as blush. And it doesn't come off all night!
Well extra special to me means I get to have someone else do the make up for me.. pampering is a must every now and then!!

I use the electronic brush that you use before applying makeup (I don't use it everyday...too abrasive for me). It makes my face extra smooth. Love it.

My special makeup trick is I blow dry my eyelashes on a cold setting to dry them up (curling) instead of using a curling thingy as it sometimes pulls out your lashes...my little trick LOL

For special occasions I use bronzer and a highlighter as well as two shades of eyeliner- a darker shade around the outside of my eye & a gorgeous green or blue inside the rim. I also take the time to apply several coats of mascara and then curl my lashes!
I'll add some eyeliner and actually use lipstick for special occasions! Otherwise it's just some concealer and powder for me (oh and mascara!)
I use a gel liner, and a pop of color on my lips.

For special events, or if you're going to be in a lot of pictures make sure you put your face powder on your neck, ears, decollete and if your arms are exposed them too (just a light dusting)! The reason being that face powder has particles that reflect light, and if you don't dust these other areas you can look washed out, or like your face is too white/and or powdery! I learned this from my close friend, who is a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown!
